Magic of the Plains

About Ron Sylvester

Ron Sylvester has been doing magic for more than 50 years, performing for large groups, small groups, his wife, his children, and his dog. He performs as a variety of characters, from Zatara at Comicons to Professor Brakebills at steampunk shows. He also acts in community theater in central Kansas and performs magic whenever he can. His day job was being a journalist, as a writer and editor for more than 43 years. During that time he's had lunch with Johnny Cash, looked into the eyes of the BTK serial killer and worked beats on the famous Las Vegas Strip and Disneyland. Currently, he's getting ready for a new daytime job as a magistrate in Kingman, Kansas, with dreams of being like Harry Anderson in "Night Court." At least his dog, Reno, seems entertained by it all.
