DEALER RULES I.B.M. 2027 CONVENTION
The I.B.M. values their relationship with qualified magic Dealers at their annual conventions. The Dealers Room is a major attraction for our convention attendees, and we also want it to be a great experience for our Dealers. In an effort to ensure a high standard for the Dealers at the convention, the following rules have been established.
All Dealers (not assistants) shall be members of the I.B.M., and a current membership number is required with the application unless joining at the time of application.
Dealer Registration includes access only to the Dealers Room. Full Convention Registration is available separately at a greatly reduced price for Dealers only.
Any Dealer requesting booth space must have a reputable business history with a minimum of a two years of being in business. The Dealer Chairperson may request proof of this history.
Dealers may not share a booth space except with the prior approval of the Dealer Chairperson. Without prior approval, violators of this rule may be assessed a fee equal to an additional booth space or asked to leave the Dealer Room.
Dealing outside the Dealer's room is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, hotel room dealing or the distribution of flyers to rooms at the hotel. Violators may lose their privilege to display at the convention and be asked to leave the convention.
There will be no displaying/hanging of material from the venue walls, "blue" material (pornographic or sexually explicit material) and no demonstrations of pyrotechnics or explosive devices.
Littering of the Dealers’ aisles with paper or other debris is prohibited. Any debris resulting from the demonstration of a trick must be cleaned up immediately. Any fees assessed by the hotel for cleanup will be passed on to the offending Dealer.
Dealers using video, audio or microphones shall not have the volume so high as to interfere with other Dealers around them.
All Dealers are expected to be open during all Dealer Room operational hours. If there are extended periods of time when you must be away from your booth, the Dealer Chairperson must be advised and grant approval.
Any Dealer needing electricity must request it in advance and be prepared to pay an additional charge, as listed in the options.
Dealers must be completely packed and out of the Dealer Room by the end of the specified dealer load-out time on the last day of the convention.
Any Dealer found to be knowingly selling pirated magic will forfeit their Dealer Registration payment and be required to vacate the Dealers Room.
By signing this document, you agree that you understand and will abide by these rules, that you assume full responsibility for injuries, obligations or losses to yourself or to other individuals or property stemming from your presence as a Dealer, and that you will hold the I.B.M. harmless of any responsibility and/or payment of any damages or expenses incurred in defending any claim arising for your actions, and that you acknowledge the I.B.M. is not responsible for any missing, stolen, or damaged merchandise or display item during the course of the convention. and that the I.B.M. is not responsible for "bad checks" or for false credit information received from any customer during the convention.
Dealers will be expected to act professionally and civilly to other Dealers and convention attendees and agree to be respectful and not to act inappropriately.
All Dealers acknowledge that the decision of I.B.M. to accept or deny any Dealer Application shall be subject to the space available in the Dealer Room and approval of the Dealer Chair (with the advice and counsel of the Convention Committee to assure the Dealer Room provides the best possible experience for Convention attendees and Dealer presentations enhance the Convention theme.
