The Comedy Hypnotist / Magician

About Tyzen

I grew up in Winnipeg, MB - Canada and fell in love with magic at age 13 when I saw David Copperfield perform his exploding building escape on TV.  I joined the local SYM (Society of Young Magicians) and in my first year of magic I won the Junior Grand Championship Award at Magic Week 89 with a dove act that I had developed.  This award propelled me forward very quickly as a young, professional magician.  I put ads in the local paper and yellow pages promoting my talents for hire.  I was attending junior high school while at the same time performing children's birthday parties on the weekends.  My parents would drive me to my gigs until I turned 16 and had a car and license of my own.  Throughout high school I started acquiring large scale illusions and produced my own illusion production in the school's theater to raise money for our graduation.  It was a huge success!  I also got involved with the theater group and we would perform "theater sports" (which was much like television's Who's Line is it Anyway improv show) during lunch hour to entertainment the students.  This really helped me develop my character on stage.  I taught me how to be quick, responsive and present while on stage.  During my final months in high school, I became fascinated with the art of hypnotism and began to learn and hone those skills.  By graduation I had already been scouted out by a local entertainment agency Morris Entertainment.  I blended all of my skills and it was no time that my Magic / Hypnosis Show was being booked all over Canada.  In 2010 I packed up my box of tricks and props and moved to Las Vegas, NV.  Even since I've headlined for such venues as Harrah's Casino, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and State & County Fairs all across North America.

Growing up my magical and hypnotic influences were David Copperfield, Peter Reveen, James Cielen, Lance Burton and Doug Henning.  I was also fascinated and inspired by standup comedians such as Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles and Carrot Top.

I give big credit to World's Greatest Escape Artist Dean Gunnarson for introducing me to the SYM and giving me my first magic book.  Your kindness and attention changed my world forever
