About Rick Raymond

Rick is a native Floridian who started magic as hobby while in grade school. While growing up, he performed at birthday parties and civic events. He joined the IBM in the mid 1980's through the Bob Hutchings Ring (130) in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1987, Rick competed and won the stage competition at the Florida Magicians' Association annual convention in West Palm Beach. At the same convention, he was able to meet his favorite magician, Harry Blackstone, Jr. After high school, Rick joined the police department and within a year created the "Just Say No!" Illusion Show which he toured the State of Florida with for several years in his off-duty time. He brought a positive self-esteem and anti drug message to countless elementary aged children throughout Florida. In 1995, Rick left the police department and began a three year run at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida appearing as the magical character Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels. During his time at Disney, he entertained international audiences 4 nights per week with close-up magic and character meet and greets. On his days off from Disney, Rick continued to present his 90 minute stage show which featured nearly a dozen full-scale stage illusions, doves, rabbits and occasionally a tempermental duck named, Puddles. Semi-Retired from performing, Rick currently operates a private investigative agency and spy shop in Daytona Beach, Florida and performs shows locally by private appointment.
