picture Nihal was born in 1939 and at the young age of 9, he was bitten by the Magic Bug, when he saw street performers doing magic in his hometown of Kandy. Nihal used to spend hours and days watching these performers and started secretly practicing at home. After years of practicing Nihal disguised gave his first public performance at the age of 15 in front of his school mates at St. Anthony's College, Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Since then Nihal has been entertaining audiences young and old, across Sri Lanka, Bahrain, United Kingdom, France and United States of America.

By Profession, Nihal is a Surveyor & Leveller, Town & Country Planner. In the 60s and 70s, Nihal worked as Lecturer at University of Moratuwa in Surveying and Town & Country Planning. He was also a visiting lecturer in many Technical Colleges in Sri Lanka.

Many a weekend, nights would be spent perfecting his craft and doing performances ranging from birthday parties to full stage productions at Lionel Wendt, Nawarangahala, Ramakrishna Hall and other venues from Jaffna to Matara, Colombo to Batticaloa.

Nihal joined the Sri Lanka Magic Circle in March of 1969 & volunteered his time and worked as the Editor of the "THE WAND" (Monthly bulletin of the Sri Lanka Magic Circle), Secretary, Entertainment Secretary and Vice President.

In 1982, Nihal left Sri Lanka to work as the Manager of a road construction company in the Kingdom of Bahrain. While there he continued practicing his craft and continues to amaze and bring joy to thousands by performing at birthday parties, schools, clubs, hotels etc. Nihal’s talents and reputation didn’t go unnoticed as he was invited to perform in front of the King of Bahrain and to His Excellency's children. He was also the preferred entertainer to many birthday parties and functions of the immediate and extended royal family in Bahrain.

After retiring from his position in Decemer 2009, Nihal returned to Sri Lanka and was actively involved with the Sri Lanka Magic Circle and continued to amaze young and old.

In August 2010 Nihal and wife became permanent residents in USA but started living in USA from May 2015.
