New Stage and Illusion Performance Column to Debut in The Linking Ring
Category: News Posted by: I.B.M. Website Editor
Coming in January, The Linking Ring -- the official monthly journal of the I.B.M. -- will debut a new column, “Experiments in Magic Theatre,” by John Tudor. Focusing on stage and illusion performance, John will feature magic created for plays, television, or one-time events. Each article will be illustrated with a YouTube video and a blog with expanded content and your commentary.
The series will begin with a pair of magic character roles, as a guest artist with a troupe. Next, an ensemble magic act, the mentoring of young magicians, and magic stories (with guest performers). A literary magic drama, a classic magic comedy, and multi-media misdirection will follow. Two-, three-, and four-person multiple exchange illusions will also be explored.
A professional magician for over twenty years, John has followed a calling to blend magic with theatre. “What if you want to try something new? To find a new style? To grow as a performer?” John says. “I did and still do! These are some of my artistic experiments. I hope to share something of what I’ve learned.”
“Experiments in Magic Theatre” starts with the January issue. For more information, visit www.tudormagic.com.
