DAY 4 -- IBM Convention

 DAY 4 of the 2018 I.B.M. Convention began with a meeting of contestants in the Close-up Contest, followed by a briefing for the Close-up Contest judges. The actual Close-up Contest took place from 1 to 3 pm this afternoon, efficient as usual -- recognized as the best in the magic world. 

 

This was the day two session of the Big Three presentations,conducted 9:30- 11 am. 

 

Spouses headed out for another outing, the Lance Burton Teen Seminar held its Scene 2, and the Dealer’s Room bristled with activity (and business). 

 

After the Close-up Contest, Jeff Hobson lectured, pausing from his nationwide tour with “The Illusionists.”

 

The Annual Grand Banquet included a special show, by Rick Merrilland Steve Bargatze. Then the day closed with the Gold Medal Show, followed by a lecture by Nick Lewin, a meeting of The Invisible Lodge, and a special presentation of The Amazing 

Johnathan Show (which was an extra cost event, but only $5).
