DAY 3: Magic filled the Arizona air on Friday

On Day Three of the I.B.M. convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, it is not surprising that there was magic everywhere at the Talking Stick Resort. The day began with a meeting of the Close-up Contest contestants, followed by a lecture by Jon Armstrong. The new I.B.M. Board of Directors met, and the Magic Shops (Dealer’s Room) opened for business. After lunch, the Close-up Contest was held, followed by another lecture, this time by Bizzaro. The Grand Banquet had its own show (featuring Banachek and Shawn Farquhar), before everyone left for the Fantastic Gold Medal Show. Then after the show, there was “An Evening With Banachek,” and a meeting of the Invisible Lodge (members of both the Masons and a magic organization).
