5 Magicians Still in America's Got Talent

Category: Media Magic   Posted by: C. DENNIS SCHICK

n the 2016 Summer season of America’s Got Talent, only one magician has been eliminated as of August 3. After two weeks of live performances and public voting, one magician did not make the cut (Japanese artistic magician Hara), while three others have been voted on to the next level.

Making the semi-finals are: Jon Dorenbos, a professional football player with the Philadelphia Eagles; The Clairvoyants, mentalists Thommy Ten and Amelie van Tass, from Austria; and Rubik’s Cube expert Steven Brundage. Interestingly, The Clairvoyants and Brundage both appeared at the I.B.M. Convention in San Antonio last month.

Still to perform are two more magician acts: Blake Vogt, and Kardan and Brooklyn Rockett, kid magicians. The Rocketts are the children of Bart Rockett, who performed in Branson for several seasons.

There are two juggling acts still in the competition (The Passing Zone and Victor Kee), as well as two contortionist acts (Vello Vaher and Sofie Dessi), plus several singing and dancing acts. Also, Alfredo is performing as a knife-thrower, but he is a trained magician, according to his bio. He is half of the Alfredo & Anna act.

Due to the Olympics on NBC for the next two weeks (August 5-21), America’s Got Talent is taking a break until Tuesday, August 23. Tune in and vote multiple times (it’s legal) for one or more of your favorite acts (magicians, of course).
