Howdy friends.  I seemed to have overlooked an important announcement last week. Our own Rachael Dunn took top honors at the T.A.O.M. convention in the Junior Stage Category.  Way to go, Rachael! Dal Sanders will be our guest lecturer visiting Houston this week and Steve Daly will return again later this month to Houston for another appearance at a local club. We are also preparing for a joint benefit with Camp For All with two public performances slated for September 28th. Other activities continue to make Houston a magical place. (Read More...)

September 26th, 2008, is the NEW date set for Cirque du Soleil's CRISS ANGEL - BELIEVE show at the Las Vegas Luxor Hotel.  This is the second time that the opening previews have been pushed back -- this time an additional two weeks. Anita Nelving, a spokesperson for the production company, explained, "There are intricate illusions involved where elements just can't be worked out within a standard show preview schedule. This is the first time we've created a show of magic illusion and we underestimated the amount of time we needed." (read more)

The magic community in jolly ole England is a buzz with thoughts of jinxs, curses and spells the like of which has not been seen since Alastor Moody flit the Avada Kedavra in Goblet of Fire. It seems that Collin Richardson and Geoff Pescud, in a story tipped by The Times, have grown bored with the legendary Blackpool magic gathering to start their own magic convention three weeks prior the rival event next February. (read more)
