Greetings, "tempus fugit" or "time flies", no matter which way you say it, the meaning is the same. . . the deadline is near - January 31st is the last day to take advantage of the lower registration rate for the I.B.M. convention take advantage of this $40 savings. The I.B.M. in Nashville, S.A.M. in Buffalo and with one day in Canada visiting Niagara Falls and Greg Frewin, both with terrific talent line-ups, don't make a choice, attend them both if you can. A one day mini convention will be taking place March 1 in Miami; Docc Hilford lecturing at Ring 341; Sterling Dietz performing for Special Olympics; Neil Tobin and Supernatural Chicago on Friday the 13th and more... This year's Blackpool and FLASOMA conventions are just a week or so away and many are already packing and preparing for their flights to attend. Jay and I are just wishing we could be among those going but we are on "stand by" for word on the baby's arrival and don't dare leave the country at that time. To those who are going, please do take many pictures and send some back and please write a review for us, I'd love to read all about it and publish excerpts in this weekly newsletter.

March 1st sounds a long way off, but, it truly isn't. Why not take advantage of the great South Florida weather and head down to attend this year's Mini Convention in Miami? We are planning what will be a truly magical day with terrific talent, great food, special magic vendors and more.

Until next time, keep a dream in the making for you create your tomorrows by what you dream today.

SONNY FONTANA - off to China

Our friend Sonny Fontana is off to China on an engagement. He will be delighting audiences overseas just as he has audiences everywhere he has been, with his shadow acts. We wish Sonny the best on his tour and look forward to seeing him perform when he returns.

Ken ScottKEN SCOTT -

I mentioned last week that Ken Scott recently received the Magician of the Year award in Atlanta. Ken is a terrific person, a great performer and a phenomenal lecturer. Given the opportunity to attend one of his lectures, do not hesitate, book a front row seat; you will not regret it.

About the mention in the newsletter Ken says ... "Thanks that was sweet for mentioning that!" ... As you can tell, Ken is a very modest guy who truly deserves the kudos and recognition.

MAGIC VAULT -

The folks at Magic Vault sent us a newsletter this week that made us stop to think. We live with mostly good weather in South Florida and we sometimes forget that there are other places where our colleagues contend with the snow, humidity, wind and other adverse performing conditions.

Their first paragraph says "As I compose this newsletter, the thermometer continues to fall. 13 Degrees this morning. Brrrr. The hands are cold and any idea of palming a coin quickly subsides as I rub them together while waiting for the car to warm up. Winter - the outdoor buskers crippling adversary. During these cold times I find myself hibernating indoors looking for sources of entertainment - often which end up being something magic related."... there's a great deal more so click here to read further.

FRIDAY THE 13TH?!?

Devilish FUN on FRIDAY the 13TH at "Supernatural Chicago" Show. Friday the 13th marks more than a day of superstitious observance: when it falls in February of 2009, it's also a birthday that marks the start of Year Six for SUPERNATURAL CHICAGO, the longest running theatrical magic presentation in Chicago history. And for audience members attending this specific performance, special treats are planned. Neil Tobin, Necromancer's acclaimed one-man show, invites guests to experience Chicago's paranormal past through a unique and entertaining blend of compelling stories, psychic magic and audience engaging interactive fun - in a landmark nightspot that's been called one of the city's most haunted locations! On Friday the 13th, guests will enjoy an extra perk: delicious cupcakes for the whole audience ... devil's food, of course.

     *    Refreshingly intimate -- only 50 guests per performance
     *    Truly involving -- this is fully immersive interactive theater, from the moment guests enter
the imposing granite structure to the audience interplay throughout the show.
     *    Absolutely unique -- there's simply nothing like this show's combination of history,
magic, interaction, environmental theater, laughs, and deep mystery -- in this city or
           anywhere else in the world.
     *    Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, and ranked among the Top Three Attractions
           in Chicago by Tripadvisor.

SUPERNATURAL CHICAGO is hosted by Neil Tobin, Necromancer at the landmark Excalibur nightclub, 632 N. Dearborn (at Ontario). Guests under 21 will be admitted, but should be at least of high-school age. Seating is limited to 50 guests per show, so advance purchase is encouraged. For details, call Excalibur at 312.266.1944 or CLICK HERE
