Day Three of the I.B.M. Annual Convention was full, from dawn to dark. Scheduled were three lectures, special events for youth and spouses, a business meeting, and a very special evening show. The day began with a special breakfast for the youth. Then at 9:30, the second rotation of the Big Three Event took place, again featuring Close-up Performances; Paul Gertner’s “Ten Fingers;” and Wayne Houchin’s lecture.

I.B.M. followed the Big Three. Among bits of business conducted was the official induction of officers for 2012-13. Also at the meeting, Sammy Smith, Executive Editor of The Linking Ring, announced the winners of the magazine’s annual awards.
Round Two of the Stage Contest began at 1 p.m., again. Winners will be announced at the Gold Medal Show Friday evening. The afternoon lecture was by Geoff Williams, from Florida.
The first of three evening shows at the Chrysler Hall Theater took place Thursday. Since the theater is six blocks from the hotel, shuttle buses were available for those who did not want to walk. This evening’s special performance was the Stars of Asia Show, arranged by Dale Salwak who serves on the I.B.M’s International Relations Committee. Comedy magician Chris Capehart emceed the show. All the Asian stars gathered for a curtain call to a standing ovation.
The long day of magic ended with a late night lecture by an I.B.M. Gold Medal 
Winner, George Saterial. Of course there was magic in the lobby, magic in the hallways, and magic wherever two or more magicians gathered. After all, this IS a MAGIC CONVENTION.
