Since the I.B.M. Convention in Phoenix is less than a month away-- July 15-20 -- you who are going have started to think about what to take (see another column below), and have even taken a look at the schedule posted on-line. You may have even pictured yourself AT the convention and are thinking about what some of your strategies will be once you get to the convention site.

Howdy friends. The N.R.A. is having its annual meeting in Houston this week along with the Offshore Technology Conference. These groups are expected to bring in over 150,000 people. Surely there are some magicians in one of those groups. You are certainly welcome to join us for any of our activities. This week is our monthly joint H.A.O.M. and S.A.M. Assembly #19 meeting. Plus our club is excited about getting to see a sneak peek at the upcoming Hollywood film, "Now You See Me". There is also some important info on an upcoming lecture by Ice McDonald and more in this week's update...that I doubt if any actually reads. If you do, then please drop me a note at Scott@ScottWells.com to let me know that there are people out there reading this blog. I have yet to receive any comment, written or spoken, since I have revived this weekly column five months ago.

     By now you should have already registered for the I.B.M. Convention in Phoenix July 17-20, or are about to, and have started making your travel plans. It's less than two months away, you know? Many of you will just show up, attend most of the sessions and events, and will take home terrific memories of a fantastic experience.  BUT, others of you want to get as much out of the convention as possible, which is smart. Since you might be starting a checklist of what to take to the convention, add to your list my list of things and stuff to maximize your magic and convention experience. (I am rewriting and updating a column I wrote a couple of years ago.)
