Work begins on 2011 convention in Dallas
Even before the 82nd Annual I.B.M. Annual Convention ended in San Diego, California, July, 10, planning had already begun on the 83rd Annual Convention, June 28-July 2, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. The convention will be held at the Sheraton Dallas hotel, and the evening shows will be held at the historic Majestic theater. As is always necessary for major conventions, facilities had to be reserved several years in advance. Site Chairman David Sandy is perfect for the job since he is always thinking years ahead of most of the rest of us.
Following the tradition of the I.B.M., the annual convention rotates each year from the East Coast to the Midwest to the West Coast to the Midwest, in order to bring the tremendous annual convention experience to as many I.B.M. members as possible, as often as possible. Thus moving from Nashville last year to San Diego this year and to Dallas next year is in keeping with that philosophy.

Watch this space for breaking news about the 2011 convention. As we learn about it, we'll pass it on to you. For now you can do several things: (1) circle the dates on ALL your calendars. Be sure to plan a couple of days before and/or after to take advantage of all that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has to offer. (2) If you see a special flight deal to Dallas, take advantage of it. (3) Start now thinking about what you want to do for the annual contests. You've thought about it in the past; you've even told yourself (and others) that you were going to compete. So just do it. Virtually every competitor in the past has said what a terrific experience it was. YOU can have that experience, too. And the prizes and benefits are nice too. But you can't win if you don't enter.
