Add these magic events to your calendars (Updated 9/4/10)

This is September, the last month of the third quarter. Fall and Football have begun, and the kiddos are back in school. It's time for Fall Festivals, Octoberfests, Tailgate Parties, Halloween Haunted Houses, and many other opportunities for MAGIC. And a magician even made it into the Top Ten of America's Got Talent. (There COULD have been two!)
Here are some coming magic events we've been told about: • J.C. Wagner tribute • Magicians' Flea Market • Magic by the Falls • Le Grand David • Daytona Beach Festival of Magic • David Sandy's Magic Cruise.
1. CELEBRATION OF J.C. WAGNER'S LIFE. J.C. Wagner, perhaps the best and best-known bar magician in the world, died August 15. He had friends all over the world, so it is not surprising that some of those friends would plan a gathering to celebrate his life. We have just received an announcement of such a celebration, from Syd Segal. It will be October 2nd at McP's Irish Pub, 1107 Orange Avenue, in Coronado, California. The poster asks that guests arrive by 12:30 pm and the celebration will begin at 1 pm.
Speakers will include James Patton, Jamy Ian Swiss, Terry Lunceford, Mike Stilwell, and other friends and family members. Food and drinks will be provided. 2. MAGICIANS' FLEA MARKET. As seen in an ad in The Linking Ring, the Magicians' Flea Market is set for September 10-11 at Magic Valley Ranch in Clanton, Alabama. It sounds like a whole lot more than that, however. The ads says: "Buy, sell, perform, visit, and enjoy the fun." 3. MAGIC BY THE FALLS. Another ad in The Linking Ring promotes this benefit event in Niagara Falls, Canada. It will be September 24-26 and proceeds will go to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Canada. He's the late founder of Wendy's, you recall. 4. LE GRAND DAVID: On September 19, the thirty-fifth season of "Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company" will open. Six additional performances will be held on Oct. 3, 17, and 24; and Nov. 7, 14, and 28. All performances are at 3 p.m. on Sunday. 5. DAYTONA BEACH FESTIVAL OF MAGIC. This is the tenth annual convention for the Daytona Magic folks, and the Florida Magician's Association. and they are celebrating in style. 6. DAVID SANDY'S MAGIC CRUISE. He's at it again! David Sandy has put together another special magic event, as seen in his full-page ad in The Linking Ring as well as his banner ad here. He really knows how to promote the November 6-14 event, including a night-before evening at the Magic Castle.
