Magician since 1949
Clown since 1997

I started in magic when he was 9 years old, when my father bought me a magic set for my birthday that I had begged for. After six months I was able to do almost every trick in the set.
I did parties and entertained my friends.

Magic was not really popular in those days and there were no magic stores available. I went to the library and was surprised to find a wealth of magic books.

Magic was a hobby and would not support me on a full time basis, so it had to go on the back burner. After I finished school I joined the Navy and of course could not carry equipment to sea with me so I started doing close up magic. Later I was sent to Memphis for school and on completion was assigned to be an instructor and was able to stay in one place. I entertained in the USO, at parties, and for friends. In 1964 I married Alice. She was from the Portland Oregon aria and decided that that was where she wanted to live when I was discharged.

After the service I went to work for Pacific NW Bell telephone. I had time to entertain at schools and Libraries, I taught magic to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for their merit badges and I entertained in clubs like the Elks and later Masonic organizations.

In 1997 I joined the Shrine and became a magical clown named Wizard. I am doing parades, fundraisers, entertaining kids in the shrine hospitals etc. I also entertain in churches, and elsewhere with magic and balloons.

I am a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Order of Merlin,Shield, Society of American Magicians, and The fellowship of Christian Magicians.
