At the age of ten when Tom O'Lenick saw magician Harry Blackstone, Sr, perform his big illusion show, he knew one day he would be working a special kind of magic of his own. Now, more than 45 years later, O'Lenick is regularly providing great magical entertainment for corporations, private parties, and special events audiences throughout Minnesota and across the county. O'Lenick, a magician member of the Academy of Magical Arts (aka: The Magic Castle) and a longtime member of the prestigous International Brotherhood of Magicians, was mentored by magician, Frank Luckner (prop master for Blackstone, Sr.) for many years in upstate New York. O'Lenick's affiliation with working professionals; his continued magic studies; and jobs demonstrating new tricks at magic conventions and in a Minneapolis magic store eventually gave him an opportunity to realize a childhood dream of meeting and working for Mark Wilson. O'Lenick is a credited author of the Mark Wilson Course in Magic and has invented and published numerous magic effects including the "Flying Bill" (Aero-Dynamic Dollar); "Koin Kards" and the "Matchbox Miracle Mystery." O'Lenick's show today uses participants from the audience as a way to bring the mystery a "personal" touch. Close-up effects, mind reading, illusions and sleight-of-hand tricks using common objects make up the presentations. Often, he performs the classic magic trick where a person is sawed-in-two using a volunteer he has not met before from the audience.
