Picture: Ring 199 President, Joe Schmelzer, performing at a recent meeting. Below is a note from Joe regarding the great Ring activities coming in 2012: LETTER FROM YOUR PRESIDENT . Last year was a great year for our ring, but 2012 is looking to be even better. Your officers have been working hard on arranging all sorts of fun things for the year. Thank you team. . We had a great lecture and banquet featuring Ken Scott. Food was good, company was great and the magic was, well, magical! I can’t wait for our next banquet. . February will be our ring meeting with the theme “Magic with Heart”. Our Vice-President George Dolicker has really raised the level of our performance section of our meetings. If you haven’t attended a meeting lately, please stop in and enjoy. Bring some magic to perform,too! . Nathan Kranzo will lecture in March. Nathan does comedy, mentalism and close up. What a combination! Don't miss it. . We will have our annual auction in April. There are deals abound and it’s a good way to clean up your magic room/corner/closet and make some money. . May will be our Family Fling. This is a great evening with your family and fellow magicians. The evening starting out with a potluck and ends with a friendly competition of magic. This will be our third fling. The last two showed some real talent and everyone was thoroughly entertained. . More later on the activites planned for the last half of 2012! Continuing our Ring tradition, Mike Gorman has our Mid Month Magic Sessions which is a real “Fellowship of the Ring” along with our newsletters and website. Danny Reeves coordinates our magic Friday lunches. And last but not least, is Roger Way and his team of mentors teaching our future magi at our youth meetings. . As you can see, our Ring has something for everyone. Let’s start 2012 out with a bang (or a magical POOF). .
