- I saw this show the other night that Lance Burton was hosting about Harry Houdini...I watched this 2hour special for a while, and now i know more about Houdini than i would possibly know. I thought he died in the water torture chamber during one of his acts, boy was i wrong.He actually had a college kid hit him in the stomach as hard as he could possibly hit....Houdini was not ready and suffered an appendix rupture....but he let the guy hit him!!! The doctors gave him 7 hours to live he lasted 7 days .....I think........
