What is "Mysteries Of Christian Faith"?

“Isn't magic condemned by the Bible?”

It must be clearly understood that the "magic" referred to in the Bible is without exception the manipulation of the supernatural realm, either by conjuring of demons, consulting with people known as sorcerers or mediums, dabbling with astrology with the intent to predict the future or drug-induced psychosis. It has the connotation of involvement with witchcraft, sorcery, or pharmacological (drug) involvement. My entertainment, which I choose to term “Mysteries of Christian Faith” has ABSOLUTELY NO AFFILIATION with witchcraft, sorcery, or chemically-induced effects!

Individuals involved in Mysteries of Christian Faith are individuals who are committed to living in obedience to the Word of God and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. They have no secret powers and have no interest in anything that would suggest metaphysical or transcendental ability. They are specialists in the use of unique object lessons accomplished by totally natural means that confound the eyes yet illustrate the truth.

Mysteries of Christian Faith ministers are much like those in the movie industry who produce special effects for films and television. They offer an audience amazement, wonder, entertainment, mystery, and surprise for the eyes. The difference between them and those in the movie industry is rather than using electronics and sophisticated scientific gadgetry Mysteries of Christan Faith ministers rely on the skill of their hands, unusual mechanical devices, principles of color blending and light reflection, plus a lot of audience psychology and showmanship to create puzzling and exceptional events.

It is unfortunate that the art of misdirection and sleight-of-hand, for the purpose of entertainment, bears the title, "magic". However, the "magic" I perform is merely a matter of illusion, specifically designed to bring about the interest of the audience. Once their attention is captivated I speak forth the Gospel truth with each new effect in a way that most will find hard to forget!

Some Frequently Asked Questions - AND their answers!

Q: Do you meet with resistance to the "magic" aspect of your ministry?
A: Through the years, I have heard several well-meaning Christians express their concerns of my using illusion. I have asked them to reserve judgment until they witness the fruit of the ministry, and my explanation of "magic", according to Biblical exegesis. In the vast majority of such instances, those same people have expressed enthusiastic support for our ministry. There have been a few that continue to disagree, and I respect their honest intent to honor God.

Q: Is the performance of illusion a "substitute" for preaching the Word?
A: Absolutely NOT! I love to preach. There is a great need for pastors, evangelists, and teachers of the Gospel. The use of illusion serves 2 purposes: A) Attention - I can get the attention of the audience with the tricks; and B) Retention - It is a documented fact that people, young and old alike, learn far better with visual object lessons - in short, they WILL remember!

Q: How did you do that?!?
A: As a professional illusionist, I have an ethical obligation not to reveal the secrets of my art. I can assure you though, EVERYTHING I do has a natural explanation!
