Mysteries Of Christian Faith

I wish to thank you so much for taking a few moments to read this letter. Hopefully after reading it you will be as excited and interested in my work as I am in hopefully bringing it to your congregation!

My name is Brad Toulouse. I am 42 years old, married for the past 14 years to my lovely wife Liza, and have two terrific children (Madison-12, and Max-10). I currently work as a Social Worker for the Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation.

I am also active in the Parish of St. Anne’s Tecumseh. I have been a Contemporary Choir member for the past 7 years, and this year started working with the St. Anne’s Youth Group. I am a past Cub Scout leader in Tecumseh and a past member of the Order Of Alhambra. I currently also do volunteer work over my lunch hour at the Downtown Mission of Windsor. I believe that a central component of my faith calls me to be of service to others, especially the down-trodden and disenfranchised. I only can pray that I am making the Lord happy with the work I do for Him.

I also have a life-long hobby as a performing magician. I started learning magic at four years old when my uncle pretended to make a penny disappear by hiding it under the table cloth while my eyes were closed! I was bitten by the bug way back then, and I still am now! I have performed magic all over Ontario, at festivals, libraries, nursing homes, day care centers, and a host of other venues. I enjoy entertaining all ages, but watching the faces of young children as they are amazed and full of wonder is very special to me. I currently entertain Saturday and Sunday nights at Boston Pizza, and frequently entertain at Devonshire Mall’s “Fun Fridays” events for families.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to share something with you about myself. For years as a magician I would entertain people, filling them with a child-like sense of awe and wonder. I also enjoyed the applause and attention that came with being a performer. However, at the end of the day I always felt that something was missing in my work as an entertainer; there was a void and an emptiness that I knew needed to be filled. I was just really unsure how to do it, or what to do.

Then I discovered "Mysteries Of Christian Faith" (also sometimes referred to as Christian Illusion or Gospel Magic). I realized that my skills as an entertainer could be used to only to amaze and surprise, but more importantly to inspire and spread the message of Christ to others. I could use the symbols of my work as an illusionist to tell stories (similar to Christ’s use of parables) about many of the important lessons the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ so desperately wants us to embrace. I accepted that through Mysteries of Christian Faith I could feel the sense of fullness which comes, not as an entertainer, but as a minister for Christ. I have enclosed for your perusal some information about what Mysteries of Christian Faith is (and more importantly what it isn’t!!).
